Review: Mary J Blige Concert
As soon as I came back from Cali, my mom was like “ Do you want to see Mary J. Blige” and answer was of course. I have always wanted to see her since I was little, like back in the day when I use to steal my mom’s CD’s to listen to. So, I went to see her at the Merriweather Post Pavilion which is like an outside venue but it does have a seating area under a roof. For those who loves outdoors and don’t mind being a good distance from the stage than the lawn is a good place for you and it’s cheaper too. Only a Dj opened the concert before Mary came out and he was okay. But then the moment arrived for Mary J Blige to grace us with her presence and she did not disappoint. I was amazed that she played her old stuff, like waaaaayyyyyyy back in the day, like You Bring Me Joy, I’m Going Down. That was the best part because I do not know much of her new stuff. She did lecture though the performance but I expected that since she was going through a lot in life. Her vocals were really good which surprised me because I’ve always heard she did not sound good live. Overall, I would definitely will go see her again in concert because it was truly amazing.
I truly have no pictures from that night because my camera was not taking any good shoots. Sometimes there was no light and sometimes it was too much.
